Tom Hardy on Playing Bane in The Dark Knight Rises

Well, here's the thing – the actor recently appeared on Alan Carr: Chatty Man talk show (it airs in the UK) and revealed a few things that we can expect from the upcoming Christopher Nolan‘s The Dark Knight Rises where he plays Bane.

Here's what he had to say:

“Have you seen Joel Schumacher's Batman & Robin? Doesn't look very menacing does he? Christopher Nolan will revisit the character so I wouldn't go by that at all. I'm going to need to bulk up a lot for it. That's a lot of weight to put on and I've got to start shooting in May. I've got to go up to about 13 or 14 stone. I'm 12 and a bit now, so I only have a few months to do that.”

When asked if he he'll have to wear Bane's ‘gimp mask,' Hardy replied: “Well, only if I feel like it. No.”
