Vin Diesel Joins SOLDIERS OF THE SUN

Vin Diesel is one busy guy, indeed! And this new report has nothing to do with his upcoming Riddick, or with Guardians of the Galaxy, 'cause we've just learned that Diesel is set to play the male lead in a brand new project titled Soldiers of the Sun! Yep, get ready for another sci-fi adventure which comes from the rising screenwriter Arash Amel, (man who stands behind the upcoming Grace of Monaco biopic), and head inside to find more details… So, at this moment we know that Soldiers of the Sun is an original spec script from Amel, and that folks from Universal Pictures plan to create an(other) original sci-fi action movie franchise (keep in mind that Diesel is already the leader of their ensemble Fast and Furious action franchise.) Nothing to be surprised about, especially when you read these plot details:

Set in a post-apocalyptic future, the movie focuses on a squad of soldiers that searches for a fabled city of gold while on a tour of duty in Mexico liberating it from an alien race known as Orcs.

Sounds promising, or what? We'll see about that, but in the meanwhile let us just add that Diesel is also on board to produce Soldiers of the Sun with Samantha Vincent via their One Race Films along with veteran producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura.
