Love and Other Drugs Trailer
20th Century Fox has released the first full trailer for romantic comedy Love and Other Drugs starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Anne Hathaway, Oliver Platt and Hank Azaria.
Hathaway portrays Maggie, an alluring free spirit who won’t let anyone – or anything – tie her down. But she meets her match in Jamie (Gyllenhaal), whose relentless and nearly infallible charm serve him well with the ladies and in the cutthroat world of pharmaceutical sales. Maggie and Jamie’s evolving relationship takes them both by surprise, as they find themselves under the influence of the ultimate drug: love.

In the 3D August 3, 2011 release, the evil wizard Gargamel chases the tiny blue Smurfs out of their village and they tumble from their magical world into ours – in the middle of Central Park. Just three apples high and stuck in the Big Apple, the Smurfs must find a way to get back to their village before Gargamel tracks them down.

USA Today has revealed the first official image of the hybrid live-action and animated family comedy, The Smurfs, which features three of the title characters: Papa, Grouchy and Clumsy Smurf.

We already wrote about this upcoming project, so we all know Raja Gosnell is directing with shooting underway in New York.
The Smurfs synopsis goes like this: “The movie will follow the diminutive blue people as they flee from their village after Gargamel locates it. They slip away through a magical portal and land smack in the middle of New York City’s Central Park. With Gargamel close behind, the Smurfs must find a way home before the wizard catches up with them.”

Paul Rubens Joins Smurfs
Paul Rubens is actor, writer, and comedian, best-known for his character Pee-Wee Herman, and today we had a chance to hear he has joined the cast of Columbia Pictures/Sony Pictures Animation’s hybrid live-action and animated family comedy, The Smurfs.
If you already wonder who will he voice, then let’s right now announce Paul Rubens will voice the character ‘Jokey’ Smurf in the big-screen adaptation of the animated 80’s cartoon.
So, basically, it’s all about the cast in this one. And quite a long and interesting list, you must admit. Little reminder!
Neil Patrick Harris, Jayma Mays, Sofia Vergara and Hank Azaria star on camera opposite an all-star voice cast.
Anton Yelchin will play Clumsy Smurf, comedy legend Jonathan Winters, who voiced roles in the Smurfs television series, will voice Papa Smurf, Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Katy Perry will play Smurfette, Alan Cumming will play Gutsy Smurf, SNL’s Fred Armisen will voice Brainy Smurf and George Lopez will play Grouchy Smurf.

Principal photography began Friday, March 26, in New York on Columbia Pictures’/Sony Pictures Animation’s hybrid live-action and animated family comedy, The Smurfs, it was announced today by Bob Osher, president of Sony Pictures Digital Productions, Hannah Minghella, president of Sony Pictures Animation and Doug Belgrad, president of Columbia Pictures.
Audiences everywhere are in for a Smurfy good time as the Smurfs make their first 3D trip to the big screen. When the evil wizard Gargamel chases the tiny blue Smurfs out of their village, they tumble from their magical world and into ours – in fact, smack dab in the middle of Central Park. Just three apples high and stuck in the Big Apple, the Smurfs must find a way to get back to their village before Gargamel tracks them down. The film is set for release August 3, 2011.
Quentin Tarantino Won’t Be Brainy in The Smurfs
We already wrote about CGI/live action hybrid, directed by Raja Gosnell that is scheduled to hit theaters on August 3rd 2011. And yes, we are writing about The Smurfs again.
But this time, we are here to report that Quentin Tarantino won’t be the part of the whole project, although there were some rumors that he’ll be the “brainy” one…
So let’s start with the official words of Hannah Minghella, president of Sony Pictures Animation, which is making the movie with a blend of live-action and animation:
“There were conversations about it, but it didn’t work out. Quentin is such a fanboy that it was part of the appeal.”
Sofia Vergara Joins Smurfs, Happy Feet Two
Sofia Vergara, star of the ABC’s hit comedy Modern Family, has been cast in the big screen production of the Smurfs, the Raja Gosnell-directed adaptation of the ’80s cartoon series that Columbia Pictures will release in summer 2011.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Colombian actress will play Odile, an executive at a French cosmetics company who is married to the character played by Neil Patrick Harris.
Filming will start in New York next week.
