‘Hancock’ – New Action Packed Trailer

Posted by Allan Ford 24 April, 2008 (0) Comment

Hancock

If there was anyone that should’ve donned a super suit by now, it should be Mr. Will Smith. But of course, you can trust the man with the biggest personality in Hollywood to break from the usual conventions of the comic book hero in the new film ‘Hancock‘.

Breaking from the usual ‘super’ routine, ‘Hancock’ sees Smith as a washed up superhero who is hated by the public for his failed ‘rescue attempts’ and destruction of the city. It’s only when he saves a PR agent (Jason Bateman) that an effort is to get Hancock back in the city’s good books – a job that becomes even harder when he finds himself attracted to the wife of his new acquaintance.

With only the new teaser to go on this new trailer doesn’t disappoint either. As well as showing a washed up Will Smith with superpowers we also get a glimpse into what leads the city that originally turned their back on Hancock, to finally embrace the heroic hobo.

Connor Cruise, the adopted son of Tom Cruise and ex-wife Nicole Kidman, has a minor, non-speaking part in the upcoming Will Smith drama “Seven Pounds,” a spokesman for Columbia Pictures confirmed Tuesday.

Connor Cruise shot his part over two days more than a month ago, playing Smith as a young man and mostly shown in photographs.

The movie, which is still in production, co-stars Rosario Dawson and is directed by “The Pursuit of Happyness” filmmaker Gabriele Muccino. The drama follows the story of a man who affects the lives of seven strangers.

Calls and e-mails to publicists for Kidman and Tom Cruise were not immediately returned Tuesday.

Cruise and Kidman also have an adopted daughter, 15-year-old Isabella. Kidman is pregnant with her first child with hubby singer Keith Urban.

Hugh Jackman And Marc Guggenheim Create ‘Nowhere Man’

Posted by Allan Ford 25 March, 2008 (0) Comment

Hugh JackmanHugh Jackman may be known for his Wolverine character–which he is currently shooting–but it seems that he’s branching out and creating a new comic as well. Hugh will team with showrunner Marc Guggenheim (“Eli Stone”) and Virgin Comics to bring a new comic series called Nowhere Man to shelves near you. The plan is also to adapt it into a movie with Jackman set to lead. The trade reports the story being kept under wraps, but Jackson’s Seed Productions partner John Palermo said it features a protagonist reminiscent of the one Will Smith played in I Am Legend. The concept is a futuristic world where mankind has traded privacy for safety, a premise that sprouted with Seed, Virgin CEO Sharad Devarajan and chief creative officer Gotham Chopra.

Palermo:

This is our first comic, and we feel the concept is transferable to other arenas, perhaps first as a video game, and then a movie

Jackman:

I’ve had so much fun in the graphic novel world with the ‘X-Men’ franchise that I wanted to get even more involved. I’m excited to work with Virgin and Marc and create a compelling character and story that hopefully will also make it to the big screen.

Who Would You Want to Play You in a Movie?

Posted by Allan Ford 27 February, 2008 (0) Comment

Barack Obama & Will Smith

Every day there seems to be new news about another biopic in the works: Beyonce will play Etta James, Hilary Swank will play Amelia Earhart, Jesse L. Martin will portray Marvin Gaye, and on and on. Recently, even Barack Obama staked his claim on the actor he’d like to portray him: Will Smith. The Democratic presidential hopeful claimed “Will and I have talked about this because he has the ears!”

It’s a fun thing to ponder: Who would play you in a movie? Or, if you’re not pleased with the celebrities you look like, who would you want to play you in a movie? Who would you cast as you?

Posted by Allan Ford 23 February, 2008 (0) Comment

Jada Pinkett & Will SmithJada Pinkett Smith opened up to “Extra” about dealing with her family’s drug addiction, how she keeps her 10 year-marriage strong and her top beauty secret which involves getting naked. Pinkett was honored at Essence Magazine’s First Annual Black Women in Hollywood Luncheon and her biggest fan, husband Will Smith, was by her side. “I look at this woman every day and I’m always like, ‘Somebody needs to honor you, girl!’” he exclaims.Pinkett reveals that her strong persona comes from growing up in a family stricken by substance abuse. “I watched my aunt and my mother go through addiction…and how they went in and out of rehab. It affected me a lot.” Pinkett attributes her warrior attitude along with her feminine side to Smith saying, “When you have a strong man by your side, then you can be that [strong, yet ladylike].”

Infidelity and failed marriages in Hollywood are common but Pinkett tells “Extra” that she is not insecure in her own relationship. “Will doesn’t behave the way he does for me. You can’t do anything for other people. You have to do that because that the man you want to be. Will is that man. That’s him and his understanding,” Pinkett explains.

The love in Pinkett’s marriage is quite apparent, especially when asked to share one beauty secret, she responds, “Lots of sex!”
