A few weeks ago we reported that
12 Monkeys movie is getting a TV adaptation, today – we're back to say it's official! We've just learned that
Syfy has greenlit the 60-minute pilot which will, just like the 1995 film, center on a convicted criminal (originally played by Bruce Willis) living in a grim post-apocalyptic future. Ready or not, new James Cole is coming!
Unfortunately – still nothing about the cast, but at least we know that Terry Matalas and Travis Fickett stand behind the script (and will also produce the project) while Jon Cassar is on board to direct the whole thing.
As we previously reported, the script will once again revolve around a convict named James Cole, who is sent back in time to gather information about the man-made virus that wiped out most of the human population on the planet.
Production on 12 Monkeys begins in November, with Atlas Entertainment's Charles Roven and Richard Suckle executive producing.
With some good cast – this could be pretty cool, hope you agree?
Let us know what you think and stay tuned for more updates!
