SIN CITY: Weinstein Company Wants TV Series

Sin City 2-Josh Brolin
Sin City 2-Josh Brolin According to The New York Times, the Weinstein Company has plans for a Sin City TV series to quickly follow the release of their second film Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, with both director Robert Rodriguez and comic book creator Frank Miller aboard the project. Rumored earlier in the month to be retitled A Dame to Die For, Sin City 2 was scheduled to be released on October 4th, 2013, but was pushed back until August 22nd, 2014. With a star-studded cast that includes the legendary Bruce Willis, Mickey Rourke, Josh Brolin, Jessica Alba, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, the next chapter in this trailblazing series ensures an experience like no other. Here's an excerpt from the interview:
Bob Weinstein, interviewed separately from his brother, said he was developing original projects that would be in tune with his horror- and action-oriented Dimension brand, along with several shows based on movies he has overseen for the company. He is preparing a pilot based on the “Scream” films for MTV, for instance, and developing a proposed 10-part series with Frank Darabont, based on Dimension's film version of Stephen King's “The Mist.” Mr. Weinstein said he was also hoping to quickly follow the August release of the film “Sin City: A Dame to Kill For,” directed by Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez, with a “Sin City” television series from Mr. Miller and Mr. Rodriguez.
Certainly it couldn't be quite so direct an adaptation of the comic books as the first film was and the second film is said to be. And, of course, the battery of big-name movie stars that make brief appearances in the movies wouldn't be likely to do so on television. sin-city-a-dame-to-die-for
