Up in The Air scribe Sheldon Turner is a wanted man attached to several high profile projects, including his directorial debut, By Virtue Fall, starring Eric Bana.
The same could be said of The Social Network's Armie Hammer who will be joining Eric Bana in the gritty drama By Virtue Fall.
Hammer will play an ATF agent framed for corruption and sent to a maximum security federal prison. In order to survive he turns into a badass.
Once released, adding on a bit more muscle, he devotes himself to getting revenge on the person who destroyed his life: his former partner (Eric Bana). Hammer reportedly also plans to both bulk up and shave his head for the role.
No doubt this is a different kind of character after playing one of the Winkelvoss twins in last year's The Social Network, or Clyde Tolson in Clint Eastwood's J. Edgar, or even Prince Charming in the upcoming Tarsem's Mirror Mirror.
His other upcoming roles include playing Disney's The Lone Ranger, alongside Johnny Depp as Tonto, in an adaptation of the radio serial, and starring as an air traffic controller in the thriller 2:22.
Colin Farrell was originally wanted for the Hammer's role as well, but was passed due to money-related issues.
Hammer will shoot By Virtue Fall in the later quarter of 2012, after he completes work on Gore Verbinksi's movie.
