She's only 13 years old, but she's definitely a very talented girl. That's why we're happy to announce that Kick-Ass star,
Chloe Moretz has signed to star in an upcoming indie drama titled
Hick, which will be directed by
Derick Martini.
The project will be based on the novel of the same name by
Andrea Portes, which follows “a 13-year-old Nebraska girl who gets more than she bargained for when she runs away to Las Vegas.”
Here's the
Hick novel synopsis: “Portes's chilling debut tracks a 13-year-old Nebraska girl's hard-going life on the road. Young Luli knows losers – her “aging Brigitte Bardot” mother, Tammy, and her father, Nick, go at each other every night at the Alibi, the watering hole in hometown Palmyra, Neb. Tammy runs away one morning, and Nick soon follows, leaving Luli alone at home with the Smith and Wesson .45 her Uncle Nipper gave her.
Pistol in tow, she hitches rides heading west to Vegas. A crooked man (literally; he “looks like an italic,” says smart-alecky Luli) named Eddie picks her up briefly before throwing her out of the car. Next comes cocaine-snorting grifter Glenda, who enlists Luli as an accessory to a robbery that goes awry. Glenda takes Luli under her wing. The two cross paths again with Eddie, who rapes Luli and ties her up in a secluded motel. Glenda comes to her rescue, but the confrontation with Eddie ends badly.”
So, the 13-year-old actress will play troubled teen Luli in a movie which will be directed by Derick Martini (director best known from Lymelife), while Andrea Portes adapted the book for the screen as well.
Filming is scheduled to begin in New Mexico later this year, and until then Moretz will next be seen in
Let Me In, opening October 1 in US cinemas. With every new detail about
Hick we'll be back, make sure you stay with us!
Chloe Moretz
This is a “Chloe Moretz Rape Movie” The producer should be charged with child exploitation and child pornography. They will film Chloe as they did Dakota Fanning in Houndog with extended scenes, many takes and camera angles, with her wearing skimpy clothing and being molested. Then they will show just a small part of what they shot and keep the rest for their private viewing. It is a disgusting depressing film that will be protested and boycotted as was the movie Hounddog. I really, really do not want to see Chloe beaten up and penatrated. Can’t believe her parents are letting her do this movie.
well thats how it is now, its as though oh its alright now it doesn’t matter , i mean i don’t know what the world’s coming to i didn’t see hounddog and i have no intentions of seeing this neither they couldn’t care less what they do just as long as it gets an award another lohan in the making
young actors today are exploited on screen and there is no end to it this hick movie will i believe will attract pedophiles i do not condone rape in any form oh by the way this moretz girl has twitter @ChloeGMoretz she can be annoying on there aswell
Quite interesting that you’re so gung-ho on protecting someone you find annoying.
You folks need to take a sedative. First, we have no idea what this supposed “rape scene” will entail or look like. It could simply be insinuated, or at the very least done off screen. Chloe has already filmed a rough attack scene in Let Me In and she’s none the worse for it. Also, there’s little chance she will be exploited. She and her mother and brother all know what the script calls for. They know what they’re doing.
Good points Cam. I hope your right that the rape scenes are off screen (in book she is raped in field and then raped repeatily while imprisoned in motel room for three days). Will her mother prevent exploitation of Chloe??? I mean how many mothers would sign their daughter up for this type of movie (Chloe was 12 at the time of signing). Wish the producer was more forthcoming about the rape scenes.
Remember, what you see on screen is meant to look real to the viewer, but for those on set it’s a completely different experience. There was concern for both kids in “Let Me In” due to the violence and gore, but all accounts are that they looked at it like Halloween. Obviously, a rape scene would be different, but I just don’t see the filmmakers putting Chloe through anything traumatic.
well thats how it is now its as though its alright now yeah hmm it doesn’t matter remember hounddog thats what hollywood has become now and as for taking a sedative you need to read wht your writing there are words missing and it doesn’t look good!
i am not a fan of hers i only know who she is through my son my favourite is kim richards i know i am showing my age here but moretz has no appeal to me
kim richards? who’s that!?
OMG people.. You need to relax, this is a movie, it’s all fake. It’s not a real rape, only acting..
