Debra Messing as Female Lead in CBS Yet Untitled Comedy Pilot
Say what you want, but Debra Messing is always the perfect actress for a comedy pilot!
The good thing is that folks from CBS share our opinion, because we learned that Will & Grace star is set to play the female lead in their (yet) untitled (but previously known as Mother's Day) comedy which comes from Julie Rottenberg and Elisa Zuritsky.
Written by Rottenberg and Zuritsky (who served as co-executive producers on Messing's Smash), this untitled single-cam project is based on an Israeli format and will center on a married mom who struggles to balance family, work and life.
Not hard to guess that Messing is set to play that 40-year-old mom named Ella who, in order to successfully navigate through the demanding life of being a mother of three, a lover, a friend and a career woman, constantly lies her way out of and into situations – little lies, big lies, white and at times not-so-white lies.
Already sounds like a big mess!
Anyway, at the end of this report, let us also add that Rottenberg and Zuritsky will executive produce the pilot together with London-Dekel, Eden and Keshet's Avi Nir and Ran Telem, while Messing will serve as a co-executive producer on the project.
As usual – for more updates – stay tuned!
