We already had a little chat about Dito Montiel‘s action thriller Empire State, remember? Starring Dwayne Johnson and Liam Hemsworth in leading roles, the movie revolves around two friends who plan to rob an armored car depository, and the NYPD officer who (quite logically) stands in their way. Montiel directed the whole thing from a script written by Adam Mazer which is based on the real-life robbery of the Sentry Armored Car Company in 1982 – an $11.4 million haul that, at the time, was the biggest cash robbery in U.S. history.
After failing to get into the police academy, Chris Potamitis settles for a security guard job with the Empire State Armored Truck Company. Chris makes the mistake of mentioning the company's lax security to his best friend, Eddie, and is soon unwittingly drawn into an elaborate robbery. But a veteran NYPD Detective is in close pursuit and won't be thwarted.

Beside Johnson who plays a veteran NYPD Detective and Hemsworth who stars as the above mentioned Chris, the rest of Empire State cast includes Michael Angarano as Eddie, Emma Roberts, Nikki Reed and more.
