Alfonso Cuarón, the visionary director behind cinematic masterpieces like “Gravity” and “Roma,” is back with a new psychological thriller series, “Disclaimer,” set to premiere at the 2024 Venice Film Festival. This highly anticipated series, starring Academy Award winners Cate Blanchett and Kevin Kline, promises to be a gripping exploration of secrets, identity, and the past's power to shape our present.

The teaser trailer for “Disclaimer” offers a tantalizing glimpse into the life of Catherine Ravenscroft, a respected TV documentary journalist portrayed by Blanchett. Known for her hard-hitting work that uncovers the dark secrets of long-respected institutions, Catherine's life takes a shocking turn when she receives a mysterious novel. To her horror, she finds herself as the main character in a story that lays bare her deepest, darkest secrets. As she races against time to uncover the author's identity, she must confront her own past before it obliterates her life and relationships.

This series boasts an impressive ensemble cast, including Sacha Baron Cohen as Catherine's husband Robert, Kodi Smit-McPhee as their son Nicholas, Lesley Manville, Louis Partridge, Leila George, Hoyeon, and Indira Varma as the narrator. Adding to the series' allure, the score is crafted by Oscar and Grammy-winner Finneas O'Connell, ensuring that every emotional beat is perfectly accentuated.

Behind the camera, the series is shot by renowned cinematographers Emmanuel Lubezki and Bruno Delbonnel, both of whom bring their unique visual styles to create an atmosphere that's as compelling as the narrative itself. The screenplay, adapted from Renée Knight's thriller novel, is penned by Cuarón, who also serves as the series' creator and director.

Produced by Apple Studios, Esperanto Filmoj, and Anonymous Content, “Disclaimer” is set to premiere on October 11th, 2024, exclusively on Apple TV. This strategic release follows its debut at the Venice Film Festival, where it is expected to draw significant attention.

With its star-studded cast, masterful direction, and a storyline that promises to keep viewers on the edge of their seats, “Disclaimer” is shaping up to be one of the must-watch series of the year. Make sure to mark your calendars for October 11th and prepare to dive into a world where secrets hold unimaginable power.
