English actress Sally Hawkins has joined the cast of the upcoming Godzilla movie! That means that Happy Go Lucky star will join previously announced Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Ken Watanabe, David Strathairn, Brian Cranston and Juliette Binoche. So far – so good, hope you agree?
Gareth Edwards will direct this reboot from a script written by Max Borenstein, Frank Darabont and Dave Callaham, and although not much is known about the movie plot at this moment – at least we can remind you that the movie is already set to open on March 16th, 2014.
Director Edwards and Legendary Pictures intend to approach the film and its characters in the most authentic manner possible, and as we previously mentioned – the story should center on a soldier (that's the mysterious part) and should involve at least two monsters in addition to the titular creature.
As for Sally Hawkins, the only thing we know at this moment is that she's attached to play a scientist.
Anyway, Godzilla began shooting last week in Vancouver, so I guess we'll soon have more updates to share! Stay tuned!
