‘The last man standing is always right.' The first trailer for Wong Kar Wai's long-gestating The Grandmaster (aka Grandmasters) specifically aimed at a US release has arrived.
This one features subtitles, but can't be said to offer much of anything new. There are the same lovely shots from the much-touted rain fight Ip Man (Tony Leung) engages, with pretty annoying voiceover.
Chinese superstar Ziyi Zhang also stars in the film of martial arts grand master who trained Bruce Lee.
The cast also includes Chang Chen, Xiao Shengyang and Song Hye Kyo along with hundreds of Asia's top martial artists.
The martial arts epic was already released in China and hits US theaters on August 23rd, 2013.

Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Wong Kar Wai, THE GRANDMASTER is an epic action feature inspired by the life and times of the legendary kung fu master, Ip Man. The story spans the tumultuous Republican era that followed the fall of China's last dynasty, a time of chaos, division and war that was also the golden age of Chinese martial arts. Filmed in a range of stunning locations that include the snow-swept landscapes of Northeast China and the subtropical South, THE GRANDMASTER features virtuoso performances by some of the greatest stars of contemporary Asian cinema, including Tony Leung and Ziyi Zhang.
