Jay Chou As Kato In “The Green Hornet”

Fiona March 13, 2012 3 comments
Jay Chou Columbia Pictures has confirmed that Taiwanese actor Jay Chou (“Curse of the Golden Flower”) has been cast as Kato in Michel Gondry – directed “The Green Hornet.” Chou got the part after Stephen Chow backed out of the role. Chou is an actor and singer and huge Asian star. “Jay is incredibly unique and charming and fights like a wild dog! When I filmed him next to Seth, they had such great chemistry, and I knew the movie will be great,” Gondry said. “It's an overwhelming experience to take on a role made famous by Bruce Lee. I won't try to be Bruce Lee's Kato, I will try to bring my own interpretation to the part. Of course, it's a dream role, and I'm looking forward to the challenge,” said Chou. So, for now, the movie stars Seth Rogen, Cameron Diaz and Jay Chou. Nicolas Cage is in early talks with Columbia Pictures to play the gangster villain in “The Green Hornet.” Rogen will star as Britt Reid, a bored playboy who inherits his father's crusading newspaper, the Daily Sentinel. By night he is a masked hero, fighting crime with his sidekick Kato, who has incredible martial arts skills. Diaz will star as Lenore Case and Gondry described her role as “a crime specialist” and “a big fan of the forensics TV shows”. Her character will unwittingly help the titular hero and his associate on their first series of missions. Directed by Michel Gondry from a screenplay written by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, “The Green Hornet” is scheduled to be released on December 17, 2010.

who the hell wrote this, stephen chow is not korean, he’s chinese, and not the same person as Rain, Rain is korean and never had anything to do with this film. Anyways, Jay Chou is brilliant(with music) hopefully he will prove to people that he has potential for acting too.

Jay Chou’s music sucks, so does his acting. Prepare to be disappointed.
