Are you ready to hear the latest updates on the upcoming Robert Schwentke‘s project titled R.I.P.D.? Yeah, I know you're interested in this movie, based on the Dark Horse comic, and already described as “the supernatural comedy” so let's start.
Apparently, now Jeff Bridges is in negotiations to replace previously reported Zach Galifianakis for one of the leading roles.
At the beginning, here's a little description: “Welcome to the Rest In Peace Department – the devoted, yet dead, officers of divine law enforcement “patrolling the deadbeat…reporting to one boss. Yep – THAT boss.
Nick Cruz was murdered by an unknown assailent, at the height of his personal and professional life. Now he's traded a hundred years of service to the R.I.P.D. in exchange for a shot at finding who killed him.
Unfortunately his search will take him to Hell and back – literally!” By now, you know that Ryan Reynolds is on board to play Nick Cruz, recently murdered and out for revenge. Now Jeff Bridges will play Roy Powell, or if you prefer “a gunslinger who's been dead for hundreds of years.”
According to the producer Neal Moritz, the movie is “about two cops, one recently dead and a gunslinger who's been dead for hundreds of years who work on the Rest in Peace department – which is the police department of the dead. And they basically… it takes place on a normal day and it's about trying to keep the dead quiet.”
Filming on R.I.P.D is set to begin shooting this summer. We'll keep an eye on it, so stay tuned!
