Melissa Leo Signs on for Long Developing PRISONERS

Nick Martin September 19, 2012 Add a Comment
Melissa Leo The always-terrific Melissa Leo has joined the cast of the vigilante thriller Prisoners, so Hugh Jackman is not going to end up alone. The Wolverine Jackman came back on board in the spring, with Incendies director Denis Villeneuve behind a camera lens. Now comes word that the film is looking to start early next year, once Jackman is done shooting The Wolverine with promises of a November 2013 release. The Black List script was written by Aaron Guzikowki (Contraband) and revolves around ‘a small-town carpenter named Keller (Jackman) whose young daughter and best friend are kidnapped. After the cops fail to find them, Keller takes the law into his own hands, but in the process runs up against the big city detective assigned to the case.' No word yet on who Leo will play. Mark Wahlberg, Christian Bale and Leonardo DiCaprio have all eyed the film at one time or another and Antoine Fuqua was originally attached to direct over two years ago. Academy Award winner Leo who just wrapped filming on Oblivion will next be seen in the upcoming drama Flight. Hugh Jackman Source: Variety
