Naveen Andrews Joins ABC’s ONCE UPON A TIME IN WONDERLAND
Naveen Andrews, probably best known for playing Sayid in Lost, has joined the cast of ABC's upcoming Once Upon a Time in Wonderland.
As we learned, Andrews is set to play Jafar, the villainous character who originally appeared in the 1992 animated Disney film “Aladdin”. Hopefully, we will soon have a chance to find out how the genie got in the bottle, head inside to find more details.
As we previously reported, Sophie Lowe, Peter Gadiot, Michael Socha and Emma Rigby are already set to star in a fantasy spin-off of “Once Upon a Time”, which tell us a tale of a strange new land that exists on the other side of a rabbit hole.
Lowe is on board to play Alice, the young and beautiful girl with a generous heart, who carries the scars of a long and hard life – especially after she loses the love of her life, a genie named Cyrus, played by Gadiot, that she meets in Wonderland.
Now, with Andrews on board, we have a completely new genie-in-the-bottle-mythology. Or, as co-creator and exec producer Edward Kitsis revealed:
“We're going to tell you how Alice got into Wonderland, how she wound up in asylum, what her backstory is and why Jafar is in Wonderland. We intend to be all killer and no-filler.”
This definitely sounds promising, especially now when we know that Alice is not going to be the weak-willed girl from the novel.
Once Upon a Time in Wonderland will premiere Thursday, Oct. 10 at 8/7c on ABC, and as usual – with evey new update, we'll be back, so make sure you stay tuned!
