Olivia Thirlby In The Darkest Hour

Fiona December 8, 2011 Add a Comment
Olivia Thirlby Yes, you read that correctly, young actress Olivia Thirlby seems to be back, and this time she has been cast as one of the leads in a new sci-fi action alien invasion project called The Darkest Hour. This movie is being produced by Timur Bekmambetov and will be filmed in Moscow. Chris Gorak will be directing it. Sounds interesting already? Check the rest of report then! So, the story follows a group of Americans traveling in the city when an alien invasion occurs, and young Olivia will play a “trust fund” girl who survives the attack and teams up with others to defeat the invaders. At this moment we have an information that Gorak and Josh Zetumer are rewriting the script, and that the movie will shoot this summer in Moscow. But one thing is for sure, Thirlby had a few years of lurking in the shadows and now she finally has a chance to face the “darkest hour” as the “leading girl”. We're more than happy to hear this, since we all wondered what happened to her. She definitely is very talented actress, and we all remember her from Juno and The Wackness. This time looks that she's definitely in good team! Director Chris Gorak is best known as the art director on Fight Club and Minority Report, while on the other hand we already talked about the Russian filmmaker Bekmambetov and his Wanted movie. So the only thing we can do now is wait and see how this project will work out, and we don't have to wait for too long, since the movie will begin production this summer in Moscow. Summit Entertainment is distributing the film in the states while Fox International is handling international. We hope you like this news, and that you are one of those who are happy to finally have a chance to watch Olivia Thirlby while she steps to the front lines of an alien invasion. As we said, interesting story indeed, so stay tuned, we hope more information about this one is coming soon!
