Ok, we all know that Pedro Almodovar didn't win any prize at Cannes, although it is inconceivable to me, but he has plans to make his first movie in English.
Yes, you read that correctly, so make sure to check the rest of this report for more details.
So, Almodovar met with a small group of journalists in Cannes to talk about his above mentioned movie, when he revealed:
“There's a script that…could perhaps become my first project in English” and added: “I'm writing it in Spanish but I've spoken to an American writer about doing the English version.”
Then, Almodovar also shared: “I have a few different projects right now and one of them is in English – for the first time. It's based on a story and it's pretty far along actually, but I don't want to talk about it too much right now because everyone will keep asking me about it.”
So, as you see, it looks that it's going to happen after all, but of course, we'll have to wait for more details about the whole thing, since it's still in the early stages of development. But now, when we know that director said:
“I'm going to be 51 this year and now I'm getting the possibility of doing characters I've never done before,” we have no doubt that we'll soon have a chance to watch something interesting from Almodovar.
So make sure you stay tuned!
