Model-turned-actress Sienna Miller (Tippi Hedren in upcoming BBC2 drama The Girl) has jumped onboard Bennett Miller‘s Foxcatcher, insane real-life wrestling drama, which stars Steve Carell as the mentally disturbed heir Jon DuPont.
Mr. du Pont was found guilty in 1997 of the shooting death of an Olympic champion freestyle wrestler, Dave Schultz. Mark Ruffalo will play Olympic grappler Schultz who was killed on the sprawling du Pont property in the Philadelphia suburb of Newtown Square, where the wrestler lived with his family while he was training for the Atlanta Olympics.
Miller will play his wife, Nancy while Channing Tatum is playing Schultz's brother, Mark.
Scribed by E. Max Frye and Dan Futterman (Capote) the story centers on a stamp-collecting, bird-watching multimillionaire and paranoid schizophrenic who built a wrestling training facility, Team Foxcatcher, on his 800-acre Pennsylvania estate and ended up shooting and killing his friend in front of Schultz's wife and the head of du Pont's security team with no listed motive or explanation.
Production is set to begin in later this month.
