Brit Marling‘s character – an operative for the private intelligence firm, as well as her company's head Sharon, played by

Batmanglij and Marling stand behind the script for this provocative espionage thriller, which revolves around a former FBI agent Sarah Moss, who infiltrates an anarchist collective called The East and convinces its members of her genuine participation.

But, living closely with the intensely committed members of the collective, Sarah falls in love with its charismatic leader Benji, played by
Alexander Skarsgard, and begins to question the moral underpinnings of her undercover duty.
