The anticipation is palpable as Prime Video and Amazon Freevee announce the second season of the riveting Australian crime series, Troppo. Set to premiere on July 25, 2024, this season promises to be a thrilling ride, packed with mystery, drama, and a touch of the exotic.

Fans of the show will be delighted to see Thomas Jane (Boogie Nights) and Nicole Chamoun (Safe Harbour) reprising their roles as Ted Conkaffey and Amanda Pharrell. The dynamic duo returns to the fictional rural town of Crimson Lake in tropical North Australia, where another bizarre murder shakes the community.

Season two picks up six months after Ted and Amanda's first murder case. Now, they are thrown into the investigation of a local healing retreat leader's murder, entangled with an exotic drug ring and a ‘bikie' gang. As Amanda grapples with an old enemy and a budding romance, Ted's haunted past threatens him and his family, leading to dangerous consequences.

This season is inspired by Redemption Point, the second book in the Crimson Lake series by #1 New York Times best-selling author Candice Fox. The narrative promises to weave an intricate web of crime and personal drama that fans of the series have come to love.

Returning cast members include Radha Mitchell as Kelly Conkaffey, Simon Lyndon as Ezra “Twist” Cole, Angela Punch McGregor as Dr. Val, Ling Cooper Tang as D.I. Hench, and Sara West as Brooke. New additions to the cast are Zindzi Okenyo as Detective Sweeney, Ursula Yovich as Ronnie, Miah Madden as Tayla, Ethan Lwin as Raph, Chloe Delle-Vedove as Lilly Conkaffey, and Brett Tucker as Colin.

Troppo is produced by Perpetual Entertainment and Beyond Entertainment for AGC Television, in association with Renegade Entertainment. The production receives significant backing from AGC Studios and Screen Queensland, with support from the city of Gold Coast.

Yolanda Ramke, who adapted the series for television, returns as the creator, while Lisa Duff serves as the producer. Karl Zwicky is the series producer, with executive producers Stuart Ford, Lourdes Diaz, Greg Quail, Mikael Borglund, David Ogilvy, Thomas Jane, Courtney Lauren Penn, and Yolanda Ramke.

With all eight episodes dropping simultaneously, viewers in the U.S., UK, Germany, and Austria can binge-watch the entire season on Prime Video and Amazon Freevee. Mark your calendars for July 25, 2024, and prepare for another gripping journey into the dark and thrilling world of Troppo.
