From HBO Films comes a new trailer for the upcoming Hemingway & Gellhorn. Starring  Clive Owen and Nicole Kidman and directed by Phillip Kaufman (The Unbearable Lightness of Being, Quills), the film is about the relationship between author Ernest Hemingway and war correspondent Martha Gellhorn, and will chronicle their torrid five-year marriage throughout the Spanish Civil War, as well as the aftermath.

Today we have two new poster for The Whistleblower, a political thriller in which Rachel Weisz plays a Nebraska cop working as a peacekeeper in postwar Bosnia who uncovers a sex scandal.

Here’s the official synopsis for “The Whistleblower”:

Kathryn Bolkovac is a Nebraska cop who is thrust into the gravelly snake pit of UN regulated Bosnia. She works as part of a private corporate army, training Bosnian police to restore order to the war-torn country. As she begins to get the lay of the land in her new environment, she starts to see signs of a terrible underground industry whose patrons are not only from within the corporation but from within the United Nations as well.

David Strathairn as William Seward in Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln

David StrathairnFinally something new about the upcoming Steven Spielberg‘s project Lincoln. And of course, we’re here to talk about the cast, because according to the latest reports, David Strathairn has joined previously announced Daniel Day-Lewis and Sally Field.

Well, as you see, one thing is for sure, this project definitely has some serious cast on board.

So, as you already know, this project is based on the Doris Kearns Goodwin book titled Team of Rivals and Oscar-nominee Tony Kushner (Munich) is responsible for the script.

Goodwin’s book is actually “…an analysis of Abraham Lincoln’s political talents identifies the character strengths and abilities that enabled his successful election above three accomplished candidates, in an account that also describes how he used the same abilities to rally former opponents in forming his cabinet and winning the Civil War.”

As for the above mentioned cast, Daniel Day-Lewis is set to star as the 16th President of the United States, Lincoln, while Sally Field will play his wife Mary Todd Lincoln.

Check out the new featurette for Julie Taymor‘s upcoming film The Tempest below.

Taymor, who last tackled Shakespeare with the cannibalism-fuelled Titus, first staged The Tempest in the 1980s on stage with her now trademark blend of puppetry and drama. The gender-switching film version is much bigger in scope and finds Hellen Mirren playing Prospera, a woman looking to exact revenge after she’s been unfairly usurped and exiled by her dead hubbie’s brother so he can steal her kingdom.

Touchstone Pictures has debuted the first poster for the upcoming The Tempest movie, based on William Shakespeare’s play.

The film tells the tale of the Duchess Proaperas’ banishment to a “primitive” Island with her young daughter where she is forced to master the elements of nature and magic. Prospera plots to return her Daughter to her rightful place and wreak revenge on those responsible for her downfall. When the opportunity arises she calls forth a powerful storm (Tempest) to bring her betraying brother and all the key players in her usurping to the Island where she will have a decidedly “home court” advantage.
