‘Low Life’ Set Photos with Joaquin Phoenix and Marion Cotillard
Marion Cotillard and Joaquin Phoenix were spotted on the set yesterday, Friday, January 27th, proof The Untitled James Gray Project began filming in the New York City area. The film, also referred in some circles as Low Life, is about:
…an innocent immigrant woman from Poland, Sonya Cybulski (Cotillard) is tricked into a life of burlesque and vaudeville until a dazzling magician tries to save her and reunite her with her sister who is being held in the confines of Ellis Island. American dream turns into a nightmare. While sailing to Ellis Island and a new start, her sister grows deathly ill and she is forced to trade sexual favors for medicine and food to keep her sister alive. Once they land, she is warned to keep quiet about what happened … With no place to go, she falls prey to a charming sleazebag (Phoenix), who persuades her to turn tricks in New York.

Here’s something and I’m sure you’re going to love it! French actor Guillaume Canet is on board to direct his English-language directorial debut titled Blood Ties.
We’re actually talking about a remake of 2008′s Les Liens Du Sang project, where Canet also starred.
But what’s really great about this project is the fact that we already have three great names attached to the whole thing, because Mark Wahlberg, Marion Cotillard and Zoe Saldana may all star in it!

James Gray has been set to direct The Gray Man, New Regency’s adaptation of Mark Greaney‘s thriller novel. New Regency Pictures has hired Adam Cozad (the upcoming Jack Ryan franchise reboot) to adapt the novel into script. Production Company Shine Limited (“Merlin”) is producing this project.
Court Gentry is known as The Gray Man—a legend in the stealthy realm, moving silently from job to job, accomplishing the impossible, and then fading away. Now, he is going to prove that for him, there’s no gray area between killing for a living—and killing to stay alive.

The second trailer for the romance/drama “Two Lovers,” starring Joaquin Phoenix, Gwyneth Paltrow and Vinessa Shaw has been released.
Phoenix reunites for the third time with director James Gray. The two have collaborated on “The Yards” and “We Own the Night.”
“Two Lovers” is a romantic drama set in New York City. It tells the story of Leonard (Joaquin Phoenix), an attractive but depressed young man who moves back in with his parents following a recent heartbreak. An aspiring photographer, Leonard works part-time at his father’s dry-cleaners. His concerned parents try to set him up with Sandra (Vinessa Shaw), the sweet and caring daughter of a close family friend. A big family dinner serves as their introduction and Leonard arranges to see her again.

U.S. director James Gray premiered “Two Lovers” Monday night, and it’s one of the most sensitive portrayals of the vagaries of love to hit the screen in recent years.
Gwyneth Paltrow portrays a confused woman who lives nearby and is involved in an affair with a married man. Vinessa Shaw stars as the daughter of family friends who is considered a nice match for him by his parents.
Much of the credit goes to Joaquin Phoenix, who stars as a depressed young man who moves back in with his parents after a failed engagement and becomes romantically involved with two women.
