Anthony Hopkins and Dustin Hoffman In Song of the Names

Anthony Hopkins and Dustin Hoffman So, this is how the story goes. Vadim Perelman is in charge for directing the upcoming movie titled Song of the Names based on a book with the (logically) same title by Norman Lebrecht. And, we all like legendary actor Anthony Hopkins, right? Ok, he's in this movie. But, we also like another legendary actor Dustin Hoffman, as well? Great, because he's in this movie too. Is that perfect pair in this moment for this kind of story or is that just our imagination? No way! The book tells the story of two Jewish boys and their reunion 40 years after one vanishes on the eve of his international debut as a violinist. And here is the official description of it: “Dovidl Rappoport is a violin prodigy and a Polish refugee whose family perished in the Holocaust. He now lives with a wealthy Jewish family in London and befriends their socially awkward son, Martin Simmonds. Martin's father, a musical impresario, trains Dovidl for the biggest debut on the London stage, and Martin is commandeered to act as caretaker. The two become close friends, forming a sybaritic relationship. Dovidl, however, slowly begins to slink into London's seamier nightlife and eventually disappears on the day of his much-anticipated debut, wreaking havoc on the family and its business. Forty years later, Martin discovers a trace of the vanished prodigy and eventually ekes out a plan to avenge the betrayal all those years ago. Lebrecht's story delves into the horrors of the Holocaust and the Blitz, as well as the quiet communities of Hasidic Judaism that developed in Britain after the flight of so many refugees. What emerges is a vivid and outstanding story that sings about artistry, genius, music, love, envy, friendship, and revenge.” That's what we're talking about! Perfect team! Jeffrey Caine, who was in charge for The Constant Gardener story is writing the script, so we have absolutely no doubt that we'll soon have a chance to see something brilliant! Stay tuned, because with every new information of this one, we'll be back!
