Frank Langella Joins Wes Bentley in THE TIME BEING

Frank Langella

Robot & Frank was the most intriguing film out of Sundance, in which an elderly grump named Frank and played by Frank Langella (received strong reviews) who’s having increasing difficulty taking care of himself that his son brings in a UGC-60L home care robot to look after the old man. Now comes word that the 74-year-old actor who portrayed Richard Nixon, Clark Kent’s editor Perry White and a count named Dracula in his more than distinguished career, has reportedly joined the cast of the independent film The Time Being, alongside Wes Bentley (American Beauty). The Time Being centers on a broke artist, Daniel (Bentley) who
accepts a series of bizarre commissions from Warner, a dying, eccentric millionaire (Langella) who may not be what he seems. But Daniel can’t quite ascertain whether his new ‘mentor’ is a monster who is intent on destroying Daniel’s life and marriage, or a savior who will teach him the true meaning of art.
The film will be the big-screen directorial debut of rookie filmmaker Nenad Cicin-Sain who also co-wrote script with producer Richard Gladstein. No word on low-budget indie drama called, Second Coming starring Ethan Hawke, Marion Cotillard and Mark Ruffalo, which was about to be the Cicin-Sain feature-film directorial debut from the same producer (Gladstein is two-time Academy Award nominated, for Finding Neverland and The Cider House Rules). There is also no word on when The Time Being production will start.
