Magnolia Pictures and Magnet Releasing have released the first red-band trailer for dark comedy
God Bless America, which is directed by
Bobcat Goldthwait (World's Greatest Dad) and stars
Joel Murray and
Tara Lynne Barr.
Here's the synopsis for the film:
Loveless, jobless and possibly terminally ill, Frank has had enough of the downward spiral of America. With nothing left to lose, Frank takes his gun and decides to off the stupidest, cruelest and most repellent members of society with an unusual accomplice: 16-year-old Roxy, who shares his sense of rage and disenfranchisement. From stand-up comedian and director Bobcat Goldthwait comes a scathing and hilarious attack on all that is sacred in the United States of America.
The film also stars Mackenzie Brooke Smith, Melinda Page Hamilton, Rich McDonald, and Guerrin Gardner.
God Bless America, premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2011, hits VOD on April 6th and comes to theaters May 11th, 2012.
