Disney has revealed a new IMAX poster for the upcoming fantasy film John Carter.
The movie starring Mark Strong, Willem Dafoe, Ciarán Hinds, Bryan Cranston, Dominic West, Polly Walker, Thomas Haden Church, Taylor Kitsch, is an adaption of the novel “John Carter of Mars,” written by Edgar Rice Burroughs where a man is transported to Mars to wander new lands inhabited by mysterious creatures and intelligent life.
The science fiction action adventure tells the story of war-weary, former military captain John Carter (Taylor Kitsch), who is inexplicably transported to Mars where he becomes reluctantly embroiled in a conflict of epic proportions amongst the inhabitants of the planet, including Tars Tarkas (Willem Dafoe) and the captivating Princess Dejah Thoris (Lynn Collins). In a world on the brink of collapse, Carter rediscovers his humanity when he realizes that the survival of Barsoom and its people rests in his hands.
John Carter opens March 9th, 2012 and is helmed by Andrew Stanton, who adapted the script with Mark Andrews and Michael Chabon.
