Logically, we all expect to see Captain Jack Sparrow a.k.a Johnny Depp again, so, lucky us, according to TheWrap, he is reportedly signing on to reprise the role again.
Is this surprise when we know that the fourth film, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides hit over $1 billion worldwide at the box office, while the first four installments have grossed a total of $3.7 billion? Guess not!
After all, we also know what producer Jerry Bruckheimer previously told the L.A. Times:
“Hopefully, if this one does well, Depp will want to come back and play the character again. But it's going to depend on the screenplay. It always does. He's maniacal about not wanting to disappoint his audience.”
