Starring Metallica, a cast of thousands of their fans and breakout star Dane DeHaan (Chronicle, The Amazing Spider-Man 2), Metallica Through the Never is written and directed by award-winning filmmaker Nimrod Antal (Predators, Kontroll) and produced by former IMAX film producer Charlotte Huggins (Journey to the Center of the Earth). The film marries groundbreaking footage and editing techniques with a compelling narrative, in which a band crew member (played by DeHaan) is sent out on a mission during Metallica's roaring live set in front of a sold-out arena. While on this mission, he unexpectedly has his life turned completely upside down.

The first trailer for Metallica‘s IMAX 3D concert film/ coming-of-age hybrid Metallica Through The Never is now online teasing the experience that awaits audiences.
A music-driven feature film that combines a narrative with live performance footage, stars Chronicle's Dane DeHaan as Trip, a Metallica roadie who's sent on a mission to meet up with a disabled delivery truck to pick up a mystery item.
Metallica's James Hetfield (vocals, guitar), Kirk Hammett (guitar, background vocals), Robert Trujillo (bass, background vocals) and Lars Ulrich (drums) are also among the stars of the film written and directed by Nimrod Antal (Predators).
The state of the art in 3D photography, captured using up to 24 cameras simultaneously, Metallica Through The Never comes to IMAX 3D on September 27th, 2013 and expands to other theaters October 4th, 2013.
