Not much of a (first) look at the upcoming Transcendence movie, but hey – at least it's something! Head inside to check out an international (read: we have no idea what they're talking about) featurette, the very first promo poster for the whole thing, and the first set photos with Johnny Depp and Rebecca Hall.
As you already know, Wally Pfister directs this science fiction thriller from a script written by Jack Paglen, which revolves around a computer scientist Evelyn Caster who uploads her husband Will's brain into a computer after he is assassinated by terrorists.
Or, if you prefer more details:
The film's plot is said to focus on, “singularity, nanotechnology and artificial intelligence.” They work toward their goal of technological singularity for creating a world where computers can transcend the abilities of the human brain.
Not hard to guess that Hall plays that scientist Evelyn, while Depp stars as her husband Will, right? The rest of the cast also includes Morgan Freeman, Kate Mara, Cillian Murphy, Paul Bettany, Clifton Collins Jr., and Cole Hauser.
Transcendence opens on April 18th, 2014.
