Ferrera will play Mona, a young woman who retreated into the world of mathematics after her father became ill. Now teaching math to second graders, Mona meets a man who may be just as anti-social as she is. Emotional awakenings ensue.
The Emmy-winning actress will slot “An Invisible Sign of My Own” into the very slim window in “Ugly Betty” production between the end of shooting in May and a June production restart in anticipation of a possible actors strike, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
