Gremlins star Zach Galligan has joined the cast of the third installment in the saga of feared swamp dweller Victor Crowley, Hatchet III.
Cody Blue Snider (Dee Snider's Son) has been cast in the film and popular geek goddess Rileah Vanderbilt is also joining the roll call as a SWAT team member.
The previously announced cast includes the return of Danielle Harris and Kane Hodder who plays Crowley, along with the newcomers Derek Mears (Friday the 13th), Caroline Williams (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2), Sean Whalen (Laid to Rest), Diane Goldner (The Collector), and Jason Trost (The FP).
BJ McDonnell is taking over directing duties this time with creator Adam Green (Holliston) producing and he also wrote the script for the third entry in the popular slasher franchise.
Galligan, best known for playing Billy Peltzer in Gremlins and Gremlins 2, will play Sherrif Fowler in the Lousiana-based shoot. Harris plays a woman trying to end the voodoo curse that has left Crowley's ghost terrorizing Honey Island Swamp for decades. Snider will play Galligan character's deputy.
Shooting begins this week.
In addition to Gremlins, Galligan has stayed busy in genre fare like the 80s horror movie Waxworks and its sequel.
