Sony Pictures Classics has released six photos from upcoming drama Darling Companion. The project from director Lawrence Kasdan follows a woman (Diane Keaton) who loves her dog more than her husband (Kevin Kline), only for the husband to lose the dog.

De Niro, Keaton, Heigl, Seyfried to Star in Gently down the Stream
Robert de Niro, the Academy Award-winning actor, who is heading this year’s Cannes Film Festival judging panel, will star alongside Diane Keaton in Justin Zackham‘s, brand new indie comedy in the works.
Gently down the Stream is the name of the new flick that revolves around a divorced couple (De Niro and Keaton) who pretend that they are still married during their adopted sons wedding, in order to avoid offending his birth mother. They quickly learn that acting the part isn’t as easy as it looks, especially when their whole lives begin to appear for all to see.

Mark Duplass, Dianne Wiest, Ayelet Zurer and Sam Shepard Join Darling Companion
Few days ago we reported that Lawrence Kasdan is set to direct Darling Companion, and that his upcoming indie drama already has Diane Keaton, Kevin Kline, Richard Jenkins and Elisabeth Moss all on board to star in it.
Today, we’re here for a little update because director has just added Mark Duplass, Dianne Wiest, Ayelet Zurer and Sam Shepard to the cast.
So, we already had a litte chat about this story, but, thanks to the full press release, we have the official details:
“Darling Companion is the story of a woman who loves her dog more than her husband. And then her husband loses the dog. On a wintry day, Beth (Keaton) saves a bedraggled lost dog from the side of the freeway.

And more casting news! The writer and director best known from titles like Empire Strikes Back, Raiders of the Lost Ark, and The Bodyguard, Lawrence Kasdan is set to direct Darling Companion.
The upcoming indie drama has Diane Keaton, Kevin Kline, Richard Jenkins and Elisabeth Moss all on board to star in it!
Movie will follow “a woman (Keaton) who takes in a stray dog as a companion to fill the void left by her distracted husband (Kline), only to see him lose the mutt after a wedding at their vacation home in the Rockies. A search for the animal includes several guests and a mysterious young woman.”
