Roland Emmerich directs the movie from a script written by
James Vanderbilt which centers on a para-military takeover of the White House.
Channing Tatum stars as a Secret Service agent who is tasked with saving the life of the U.S. President after the White House is overtaken by a paramilitary group.
Jamie Foxx plays the President, while
Maggie Gyllenhaal stars as the female lead, aka
patriotic Secret Service agent on the president's detail. The rest of the
White House Down cast also includes
James Woods,
Joey King,
Rachelle Lefevre and
Richard Jenkins.
Columbia Pictures will release the movie on June 28th, 2013.
