Let's try something a little bit different – the live-action digital series based on the best-selling Xbox franchise.
The ‘Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn' series will air on Machinima Prime, as well as on Halo Waypoint, beginning on October 5th, 2012.
Microsoft has produced a Web series and previewed it to fans at Comic-Con International in San Diego during a panel Thursday, believing they've created a product that both gamers and non-gamers alike will enjoy.
Director
Stewart Hendler (Sorority Row) said:
This is something that delivers for the diehard fans, that know everything in the universe. We want to make sure they're taken care of. But on the other side, this is something that can be watched by people who have never heard the word Halo. We hope it's a standalone story about cadets, and once they're in this and engaged they can learn more about what Halo has to offer.
The story, written by
Todd Helbing and
Aaron Helbing (Smallville) follows Thomas Lasky, a UNSC cadet that is struggling to balance his promising career in the military and his personal views on the war.
A 90-minute special edition with extra footage and bonus content will be available included in the Limited Edition of Halo 4.
New Halo 4 features a diverse cast including
Tom Green (‘Dance Academy') as a lead,
Anna Popplewell (The Chronicles of Narnia) as Chyler Silva,
Daniel Cudmore (X2, X-Men: The Last Stand) as the Master Chief,
Ayelet Zurer (Angels & Demons) as Mehaffey,
