Michael Chabon) and directed by two-time Academy Award-winner
Andrew Stanton (Wall-E) and is based on the first novel in Edgar Rice Burroughs' 11-volume Barsoom (Mars) classic sci-fi adventures series about a Civil War veteran (Taylor Kitsch) who is mysteriously transported to the red planet where he becomes reluctantly embroiled in a conflict of epic proportions amongst the inhabitants of the planet, including Tars Tarkas (Dafoe) and the captivating Princess Dejah Thoris (Collins). Carter rediscovers his humanity when he realizes that the survival of Barsoom and its people rests in his hands.
John Carter is set to be released on March 9th, 2012.
