THE CONGRESS

Ari Folman‘s live action/animation film The Congress definitely looks unique and original. And that's exactly what you're going to see in the rest of this report, 'cause we have two brand new clips and 25 great images to share. The movie is about the choice taken away, says Robin Wright, aka an aging actress who accepts one last job, though the consequences of her decision affect her in ways she didn't consider…

Written and directed by Folman, and based on Stanislaw Lem‘s The Futurological Congress, the movie tells the story of an aging actress with a disabled child who agrees to a large payment to have a full body imaging that will be digitized and utilized to create a digital actress.

As you already had a chance to see in the official trailer for the movie, her identity is purchased by a film studio so that her likeness may exist in perpetuity, leading to glimpses at an animated blend of future visions, blending utopias and dystopia.

But, as part of the agreement, she will no longer control her likeness and the studio will then utilize the new virtual thespian in any manner they see fit. She will also be forbidden from acting ever again…
