Stiller directs the movie from a script written by
Steve Conrad, but the whole thing is actually the second adaptation of
James Thurber‘s short story of the same name which revolves around an office worker who lives inside fantasy worlds.
There, he gets to live an adventurous life while romancing his co-worker sets off a global journey to fix things when both of their jobs are threatened.
Beside Stiller who plays Walter Mitty, the rest of the cast includes
Kristen Wiig as his love interest,
Adam Scott as his boss,
Patton Oswalt,
Sean Penn and
Shirley MacLaine.
