So, it goes like this. We've just learned that Del Toro is producing a feature-length adaptation of Spanish filmmaker Andres Muschiett's 2-minute and 56-second short film titled Mama, and guess what, it's not going to be comedy!
No way, we're here to talk about the horror! And, according to the latest reports, lovely Jessica Chastain, Tree of Life star, is attached to play the title role.
Muschietti's original short centers around two young girls, Lili and Victoria who flee from a ghostly woman that resembles their dead mother, while the expanded feature will skew the story slightly for Chastain to play “a sort of adoptive mother rather than a literal one, taking care of two little girls abandoned in the woods.
Too bad for them she's planning on using them in a bid to bring back her own, already dead, children.”
