R.I.P.D. Is Set Up For A Sequel?

Fiona May 13, 2024 2 comments
RIPD set photo In case anyone out there is still confused by this title – don't worry, we are too! R.I.P.D. is set to open on June 28th, 2013 and we're already here to talk about the sequel. Weird, but what the hell, when you have the script waiting for a sequel – then it's never early to discuss it, right? So, we all know that Robert Schwentke directed movie is based on the Dark Horse comics graphic novel by Peter Lenkov and that some great cast is involved in the whole thing. Beside Ryan Reynolds, movie also stars Jeff Bridges, Mary Louise Parker, Stephanie Szostak, Marisa Miller, James Hong, Robert Knepper and Kevin Bacon. The whole thing centers on a newly deceased cop, played by Ryan Reynolds, who's drafted into a squad of zombie cops that battle the supernatural. Now, speaking to ThePlaylist about the possible sequel, Reynolds revealed: “It could be a franchise. It certainly is set up, plot-wise, for a sequel. But nobody's signed on for that just yet. We would like it to be [a film series.]” Any thoughts about this? Would you like to see R.I.P.D. sequel, or what?

I am really looking forward to watching R.I.P.D. and as long as Ryan Reynolds is also in the sequel then HECK YES, I would definitely want to watch the sequel. I think Ryan is a tremendously talented actor and I have enjoyed watching him create some very memorable characters during the course of his career.
